CE Mark Awarded to Innovative Rupture Disc with Best-in-Class Flow Resistance Factor

With receiving the CE mark, the technically advanced LoKr is certified under both the US ASME Code and European Pressure Equipment Directive, demonstrating its suitability for global installation.

OsecoElfab’s innovative LoKr rupture disc for chemical processing, petrochemical and refining facilities has received the CE Mark. Following a successful launch in the US, the disc is now certified for use throughout Europe, the UK the Middle East, India and Asia.

OsecoElfab’s new LoKr rupture disc represents the next generation of design and engineering in pressure relief technology. The innovative design enables a higher relief capacity across all sizes compared to other reverse acting discs. This maximizes pressure relieving performance and safety with no need to adapt piping. The bursting disc's architecture has been refined and optimized to improve performance in three key areas:

  • Keeping pressure drops in relief lines to an absolute minimum;
  • Providing enhanced reliability and accuracy;
  • Suitability for the widest range of pressures, temperatures, and line sizes possible.

 The reverse-acting disc combines a dimple on the LoKr disc itself with an innovative knuckle on the specialized holder to offer full-bore opening with exceptionally accurate burst ratings. This enables a higher flow rate on burst than previously possible. This higher free flow area allows plant managers to upgrade their pressure safety equipment with minimal disruption as there is no need to increase line sizes.
