OsecoElfab has combined the best-selling products LoKr and Safety Cartridge to launch a new solution that enables chemical process and petrochemical plants to easily upgrade their pressure relief performance. Suitable for a wide range of applications, installing the LoKr Safety Cartridge requires minimal or no changes to piping, while the hermetically sealed unit eliminates torque concerns and eradicates leaking.
The high-performance rupture disc cartridge unites the innovative welded technology of the Oseco Safety Cartridge with the technically advanced design of the LoKr rupture disc. The result is a leak-tight unit that delivers a best-in-class Flow Resistance Factor, or KR, and is easy to install.
Benefit from the Lowest KR in the Industry
The welded cartridge design removes common leak paths so process media cannot leak outside the piping. This reduces fugitive emissions and supports LDAR and EPA guidelines for VOCs, HRVOCs, and VHAPs. The single-piece unit is easy and intuitive to install, and is not torque sensitive. This eliminates installation errors, reduces installation time, and allows technicians to follow gasket torque values for worry-free installation.
The reverse-buckling LoKr disk offers full-bore opening with exceptionally accurate burst ratings. This enables a higher flow rate on burst than previously possible, demonstrated by the low KR value of 0.22. This makes it easier to keep pressure drops across the relief line below 3%, when the LoKr is used in relief valve isolation. Process plants can continue to use smaller piping diameters with no loss of performance or efficiency, even at low flow rates.
Use the Welded Cartridge Almost Anywhere
The LoKr Safety Cartridge covers the widest range of burst pressures and application types possible with a single disc, making it as close to a universal rupture disc solution as you can get. While suitable for nearly all applications, the disc will be of particular interest when a Safety Cartridge is desirable and there is a need for a low Kr value. This is especially so where it is advantageous to keep lines sizes or pipework modifications to a minimum. Plants with highly corrosive or volatile media, lethal service, difficult installations, or high-cycling or pulsating applications will also benefit from the disc’s exceptionally low KR value, high burst accuracy and leak-tight design.
